invalid page fault while using msn

my friend gets the message "ieexplorer caused an invalid page fault at kernel32.dll when trying to login to my msn account..after which there is another message that says that its goin to close the internet explorer and shuts it down..she is using windows 98

Recheck that message "very" carefully (I've never heard of ieexplorer):

iexplore.exe is Internet Explorer

explorer.exe is Windows Explorer

iexplorer.exe is a Virus

If it is iexplore.exe then try IE Repair as already suggested. If it's iexplorer.exe then run your AV checkers etc.
