I keep getting this....please help. Even getting rid of spyware blaster and downloading again does not help. It has been working fine for months but since a couple days after the last update it has not. I have Zone Alarm and Pop Up stopper running as well. Had to remove AVG twice now as it became corrupt and also had to remove spyware guard because I could not do anything on the computer but get illegal operation error on everything I clicked.

Moin Sheila,
in the error code oleaut32.dll appears, possibly one of your software installations replaced it with a different version. There's a patch from Microsoft for Win98, you can download from this site:
http://www.microsoft.com/com/dcom/dcom98/dcom1_3.asp
it provides you with a correct version of oleaut32.dll, too. Give it a try, maybe it helps.
MfG, Carl.

I go to the URL you recommend but don't see anything about this DLL, only DCOM98 for Win98, version 1.3. Is it the same thing or have I gone to the wrong place?

Sorry, haven't been online during the weekend. dcom98 was worth trying, because it contains an original Microsoft oleout32.dll. Unfortunately it didn't work. You seem to use different tools, to protect your system from spyware etc, does it run without error messages if you completely uninstall spywareblaster and don't reinstall it? If so, the latest update is the problem and you could try Adaware instead of spywareblaster, which I didn't experience any problems with. Using Opera instead of IE, you don't need pop up stopper, Opera allows you to suppress pop up windows itself, in IE you can disable Java-script to suppress pop up windows. The more programs (especially tools) you use at the same time, the more problems there may be in your system.
MfG, Carl.
