Hello all

I am using USBASPI.SYS v2.20 for accessing data from USB pen drive. I am able to access it with DOS = UMB in CONFIG.SYS. But due to some memory require I tried to put DOS=HIGH,UMB but it now gives "Invalid Media type reading drive D" message and system hangs. I have following lines in my CONFIG.SYS file

LASTDRIVE=Z
DOS=HIGH,UMB
DEVICE=HIMEM.SYS
DEVICE=USBASPI.SYS
DEVICE=DI1000DD.SYS

Thanks to all those who are helping me.

bye.

I think you need to load himem.sys before the DOS=HIGH,UMB and it should work. HTH.

The 'invalid media type reading drive d:' indicates d: isn't formatted. That doesn't sound like it would be related to config.sys.

The first few lines of config.sys should probably be something like:

DEVICE=HIMEM.SYS
DEVICE=EMM386.EXE NOEMS
DOS=HIGH,UMB

then the various other driver lines would follow. You also may need to preface the commands with a path, such as:

DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS

or

DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS

depending on the file's location.
