Comment:
I repartitioned and formatted 2 of the hard drives(202Mb and 345Mb) on my 486DX100. I installed Win98 and it tried to reboot to set up the hardware. Ever since then, when I try to boot the computer from the C drive I get an "Invalid Media Type" error for the D drive, where Win98 is installed, and I am forced to go to the dos prompt. Booting from a floppy works fine (to get to the dos prompt). Would converting to FAT32 fix the problem? If not, what will?
Yeah that's probably the best thing to do. But check your cmos to make sure the drive is identified properly. A misidentified drive could give that message. When you boot from the floppy can you access both HDs?
Yes, when I boot from a floppy (not Win98 boot disk), I can access both drives without problem. I only get the error when I boot from the C:. I will try to swap the drives when I have time and reinstall Win98.
