Comment:

someone sent me a .bmp and .jpeg file. I looked at them from time to time. Now I just tried to open it and I get error messages saying (.bmp)"invaild file format" and (.jpeg) "the seleted file is not an image file. The file could not be read" What happen to my files? Is there anyway I can fix this?
Thanks
Cathy

just corrupted OR you renamed them to the wrong extension. OR you could have uninstalled thesw that you associated that particular file format to.

I showed details and renamed( I always renamed by right clicking on the icon)now instead of sky.bmp it is land.bmp, but I still get the error "invalid file format" when I try to open it. anyways....in details I noticed that the attributes were HA, but all other .bmp attributes on my computer are A. Do you know anything about this? Could this be my problem?
