Internet problem, needed help

My internet can access, but it take a long time to access. About 30sec , then it started downloading. Why. My modem is v.90 56kpb. It new PC i think is fast enough to access internet.

There are quite a few factors affecting your modem speed. You can find some usefull info. at the above website. Alternatively, try to get hold of Windows NT 4.0 OS if you think you will surf the net a lot. It's expensive, but worth the investment in the long run.

NT sucks. Dont waste your money on an operating system that isn't worth the CD it comes on. Ask your internet service provider why there is such a long delay.

I agree, ask you service privider and if you don't get satisfaction, change it. There's lots more to choose from out there.

You don't have to change your OS. 1) Check your network stack, remove any unneeded protocols, that will decrease login time and improve performance. 2) If you're running win95, update your winsock files. 3) And of course tweak, tweak, tweak!! ISpeed is cheesey little app. but it works. Set your UART to max, this will increase your download performance.
