When I had Windows 3.1, ie 5.01 worked
about as well as that version still does,
but at least it connected. When I
upgraded to Win '95, ie wasn't compatible
any more.(I got the upgrade that didn't
include ie.) I tried downloading ie 5.5
SP2 but arachne is too unstable to handle
a file that big, so I decided to try an
older, smaller version and download 5.5
with that...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHH!!!!!
Ie 1.0 dialed, verified user name &
password, then disconected claimin it
couldn't establish comatible protocols.
2.0 did the same thing. The controll
panel network setting shows that TCP/IP
is there. Now I have ie 4.01 SP2 with the cool
channel guide on my screen (can I really
watch tv on my laptop!?) and it doesn't
even attempt to dial! it has all the
information it needs but the dialer
dialog box doesn't come up and it doesn't
do anything!PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Download & install DUN (Dial Up Networking) v1.4 for Win95:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/285189
Configure DUN for your ISP & create a shortcut to it on the desktop. Use the desktop icon to connect, then open IE after it's connected.
