Subject: internet explorer will not load OS: Win Me/Win 2000 pro CPU/Ram: p4 2.4

Comment: Hi: I recently purchased a Dell computer, I installed 2 OSs on the same hard drive, on the same partition, Windows 2000 pro and Windows ME. Everything worked out fine, except when I boot into Win Me the internet explorer will not work. When I double clicks the icon the computer simply displays a small clock then after that nothing happens. However, when I boot into Win 2000 pro the IE works perfectly fine. I have tried to uninstall and install, went to microsoft website for update did pretty much everything i can think of but the IE still wont work properly. I do notice couple things tho, -I downloaded netscape 7.1 on to my Win ME, and the browser works fine. -The IE window finally opens after I changed my homepage to blank, however whenever i enter an address or a website the browser automatically closes by itself, in other words, my ie in win me will not load any website, it shuts the browser down when ever i try to connect to a website. Thanks for your help

Reply: (edit)That kind of problem is why MS advises against installing two OSs on one partition. It is hard for the OSs to keep two registries separate. I think the longer you try to use this setup the more problems you will have.
