Hey, when I start Internet Explorer after connecting to the internet it loads my home page but none of the pictures load.

After that, whenever I type in an address it says that the page cannot be found and it gives me this popup: "Application called an interface that was marshalled for a different thread"

Does anybody know what is going on here or how to fix it?

Download Netscape and install it, then uninstall IE and reload it. Keep Netscape or remove it after IE works.

First and foremost, you cannot renmove IE from windows. (Makes you wonder where some of these people get these ideas)

This is a problem with the windows networking subsystem. You can try to remove all networking components and TCP/IP windsock enteries in the Registry and rebuild them.

After you do that, try and get an upgrade for IE and install it.

You may need to reformat and reload windows from scratch. Be aware, you'll lose everything if you reformat the drive. Don't bother re-installing windows over itself without reformatting, you're just wating your time.

To Shane and Joe.

I do believe there is a possibility to uninstall Internet Explorer!

There are a program called "IEradicator2001" size 101KB and freeware.

IEradicator disintegrates all versions of Internet Explorer from v3 to v6 from an existing installation of Win95,98,98SE,2000,2000sr1 and Millenium. The removal process eliminates 99% of Internet Explorer´s files and registry keys to clear appr. 30MB of disk space. The remaining 1% is left behind to maintain compability with progs that use the MS HTML layout engine [e.g. Outlook Express].
For further info/download see www.98lite.net
I must state that I personally have not tryed the program yet.

I AM HAVING AN NTKERN.VXD PROBLEM BUT HAVE ALREADY RETRIEVED SOME INFO. ON HOW TO FIX IT. HOWEVER, NOW WHEN I GO TO MY INTERNET EXPLORER HOMEPAGE, THAT'S ALL I GET. ACTUALLY, IT SAYS "PAGE CANNOT BE FOUND". IS THERE A SIMPLE QUICK FIX THAT WILL REMOVE IE COMPLETELY AND ALSO RE-INSTALL IT WITHOUT NEEDING TO GET ONLINE? ALSO, IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THE FILENAME "PROTMAN" IS AND HOW FIX OR RE-INSTALL IT THAT WOULD PROBABLY CONCLUDE MY SERIES OF PROBLEMS. I ONLY HAVE ABOUT ONE NERVE LEFT, SO I REALLY HOPE YOU CAN HELP.

PROTMAN is the protocol manager. It´s responsible for giving Windows info on all network cards and the protocols that are bound to those cards.

The protocol manager loads and configures the network adapter drivers and network protocols and allows them to work together. It is important that the PROTMAN files load before other drivers so the system can figure them correctly.

THANK YOU FOR THE RESPONSE, TOMMY. IS THE PROTMAN THE REASON THAT I CANNOT GET IE TO RUN OR IS IT JUST A SEPARATE PROBLEM? HOW CAN I MAKE PROTMAN RUN FIRST OR IN IT'S CORRECT ORDER TO FIX THE PROBLEM? AND IF THAT ISN'T THE IE FIX WHAT IS YOUR SUGGESTION FOR THAT? THANKS

You could take a look at: www.wown.info/i_helmig/indexnop.htm

Or you can download PROGMAN from: www.driverguide.com
You have to register to download though.
