I have internet explorer 5 and I use Outlook 2000 for my email. At least once a day when I start IE 5 my home page (under tools-internet options) gets changed to fortunecity.com when I know I have it set to Yahoo. I have tried everything and can't stop this from happening. Please help or point me in a direction that will allow me to lock hy home page selection within IE 5.
Thank you.

You probably have some obnoxiouse junk software running in the background thats changing it for you.
To see whats loading at bootup do the following:Start button | Run | type in "msconfig" | click the "startup" tab at the top right | uncheck everything except "ScanRegistry" and "SystemTray" | click "OK" | and reboot...
This will make all that junk down by your clock go away as well as make your pc bootup quicker with a lot more resources available.
Note: leave things checked that you recognize and want running, such as a firewall, or Logitech mouse/keyboard items.
But definitely get rid of "FindFast" and anything that says "reminder".Also, go download/install all the latest security patches for 5.0, and upgrade it to the 128Bit version... You may have a very aggressive cookie or something messing with you. There are a bunch of "silent" VB scripts that will do that sort of thing.

This happened to me a while back. I didn't know what the problem was till I did a disk clean up that included all my cookies, history and temporary internet files. I figured that it was some Java induced page that was hidden in my files somewhere. Once I did the cleanup everything was fine and my homepage was what it should be.
