I have a client who is having problems using the internet. IE keeps crashing. I want to try reinstalling Internet Explorer 6. Using another computer, I went to Microsoft's website and found ie6setup.exe. However, as this is only a setup file and needs the internet to download the majority of IE6, I don't think I can use this.

I am looking for a file I can download that has all the components needed to install IE6 without internet interaction.

I have seen examples of this from Microsoft in the past. For example I have a file that contains everything needed to install SP2 for XP.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Henry

There's several web references about IE6 not playing nice on Win98, so it may be better to roll back to IE5.5 or go with FF. A full install of IE6 (pre SP1) is also located here:

SP1 can be installed later...

Click Tools (tool bar) -> Internet Explorer Repair Tool

You can use ie6setup.exe to download all the components from MS servers and move them to the target PC to do the IE 6 SP1 reinstall there. You can order it on CD already from MS as well, you can also see if you already have it on your latest Office CD, Norton CD, AOL CD, ...etc,....

DO copy ie6setup.exe and the support cab files to your hard drive and run the install/reinstall from there - just like a windows installation it helps tremendously when done from the hard drive. You are looking at about 75 megabytes of files for all platforms, are you sure you want all that in one file?
