Reply: (edit)You don't need to remove IE 5.5 before installing IE 6. Go to, and run Windows Update. Update should present you with the option of updating to IE6.

Reply: (edit)I agree with OtheHill on this. If, as I suspect, you have some problem with downloading IE6.1 as a Windows update you can download IE6 as an .exe file from here (big download): IE VERSIONS This can be installed from the .exe file without removing IE55. There's a fair chance that this will fix things so that you will then be able to use normal Windows update for IE6.1 version afterwards. I'll see if I can find a website to download IE6.1 itself as a file (unless anyone else can give you a link in the meantime). Derek.W
