I'm making an All-In-One DVD with all portuguese Windows versions i could find (except for ms-dos 6.22, Windows 3.11 and NT4, they existed only in brasilian language), to create a colectable piece of software in the near future.

I'm adding the last available version of Internet Explorer for every Windows version i have:

Windows 3.11 BR - IE 5.01 BR
Windows NT4 BR - IE 6 SP1 BR

Windows 95 PT - IE 5.5 SP2 PT (i don't have this one)
Windows 98/Me/2K PT - IE 6 SP1 PT

Only IE 5.5 SP2 PT-PT for Windows 95 is missing, all i could find over the internet were the English and Brasilian versions, but not the Portuguese one. I have borrowed lots of magazine CDs from my friends, in hope to find it somewhere, but until today i had no success.

So, is there any Microsoft archive that could have IE 5.5 SP2 PT-PT for Windows 95 (maybe only for certain people with the right access)?

Thanks for your attention ;)

Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 is no longer available for download from Microsoft.

I know that page, it doesn't have any links to download. I'm waiting for some more cds from a friend, maybe one has IE5.5SP2 PT-PT.

"Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 is no longer available for download from Microsoft."
Don't believe everything you read on the Internet.

http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/ie55sp2/x86/pt/IE5SETUP.EXE

Copy and paste the following to Notepad and save it as "iebatch.txt" in
the same folder as ie5setup.exe. Then double-click the
ie5setup.exe file to download the rest of the files needed.

[DownloadSite]
Display=0
DownloadLocation="http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/ie55sp2/x86/pt"

[Custom]
SetupMode=1

[Reboot]
Reboot=0

[End]

And that should allow the IEwizard to download the rest of the files from the proper location. Time is running out, it's best if you get IE 5.50 SP2 burnt to CD real soon. And don't forget that home rolled CDs suffer from data rot in three years or so. A hard drive might be the best place to store it?

OMG thanks a million! I downloaded the local install for win95/98 (29,2MB), then tested it in Virtual PC with Win95 OSR2 and worked like a charm!

How did you find such golden info?

Once again, thanks!
