My problem: Internet Explorer is causing a general protection fault in module KRNL386.EXE @ 0002:00005eb2 and completely CRASHES my computer EVERY time I visit the WINDOWS UPDATE site (right after the check for available updates).
I completely uninstalled IE 5.5, and reinstalled, however the same problem arises at the Windows Update site.
Don't think I'll ever be able to return to Windows Update if this keeps up.
I am using Windows 98, with Internet Explorer 5.5. Again, it's a general protection fault in KRNL386.EXE .
Can anyone help?? Thanks,
Tristan

ok, I still need help... just a quick rant though: People are posting messages after mine about whether or not they can ADD MUSIC to these posts! Do these people have nothing more constructive they can do with their time?! ...instead of shoving my legitimate questions down further on the boards... sorry, I feel better now. ;o)

Dear Mr. Tabor,

The rest of the world can decide who is posting legitimate questions or not. I am having a little difficulty in figuring out why you are so important right at this moment.

I'm not real sure about your problem, but it is something not agreeing with your processor. I think it is the windows update function from the sounds of it. See if you can re-install it from windows setup in add/remove programs.
As for the music, I agree, these people MUST have something better to do. I didn't come to this site to "boogy-down", man!
