Subject: Internet Connection Sharing
Comment:

I have set ICS up on a Win98 2nd edition PC
and am trying to run the client from another win98 nachine
Both pc's can see each other on the network through the 4 port hub
The internet connection on the host is a Com1 lightrider using the USB for an ISDN connection
Host can connect to the internet no problem but on the client no joy - cannot establish a connection - have tried lots

Did you create the Client Disk when you enabled ICS on the Host computer? If so, just insert it into the Client computer, find the .exe file & double-click it. It should configure the Client's settings automatically.

If you didn't create the disk, try removing ICS on the Host & re-enable it. You SHOULD get prompted to make the disk.

Hope this helps.

When running client program make sure 1st computer is connected to the internet. When prompted by the client program to connect to the internet now answer yes. If the client computer was originally using a modem for connection, go into IE click on tools, internet options, connections and check never dial a connection. This should allow your ICS to work.
