Internal error 2318

O/S Windows 98 Hi, I have been trying to install the sr1a patch to Office 2000, but get the error message as above, while I have searched microsofts FAQ's and found a page it does not help (many many hours of searching. When I try to set a verbose log in "run" get a syntax error message. When I read some log files in Windows/Temp folder it does not give a program that causes the error just 1603,s and 1902,s, but these occured in the Office 2000 installation so dont think these are a problem. Anyone any ideas please, the more easy the instructions the better please.
