I have an Intel D815EEA mobo with an Intel p3-933 CPU. Until recently, it worked great.
Now, upon boot, I get stuck with the blue Intel logo screen. The only way I can avoid this is to change the memory size or clear the CMOS after which i can get to the BIOS screen. Then, after saving changes, I get stuck again with the Intel logo screen.
Finally, I removed all peripheral cards, both IDE drives as well as the FDD. Same results.
I have been clearing the CMOS by removing the battery. I hope that is a proper way to do such.
When I DO get to the BIOS setup screen, I check the event log and only find that the memory size has changed (with one exception). The exception is that one logged event was a CMOS checksum error but that was quite a few re-boots ago; I haven't had that problem since.
Is it possible that my mobo is history? I have used KNOWN good memory sticks and before I disconnected the IDE drives and the FDD I was using KNOWN operational drives.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
