Hello! (I hope this forum is okay for posting this question..)
I had a problem earlier when I tried to install this that royally messed up my computer. I plugged it into the USB port and just kept hitting next.. since I do not have the windows98 cd I downloaded all the files it was asking for from the internet. Needless to say, after I restarted my computer the internet stopped working and I kept getting error messages left and right.
Someone helped me by suggesting I reset my registry to the other day, before the problems started.. and it worked. :)
Anyhow, I don't have the CD's for this webcam, and I would like for it to work on this computer. It works on another computer in the house but that has WindowsXP and I am not familiar with WindowsXP. This computer I am on now is also my own personal computer which is a big plus as well.
Does anyone have any advice for installing this webcam and also some software to use once it is installed so that I can use it?
Thank you, please reply.
(Intel cs430 webcam)

Driver for that it here.....
http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df/Product_Search.asp?Prod_nm=cs430You may need to remove previous installed driver via device manager/imagind device first.
Unplug webcam and d/l and install driver from above.Plug in cam AFTER the driver is installed, sounds like your pc installed m$ non-functioning driver like it did on mine.

This is causing so many problems.
It's still not working.pisces866 -- I tried the link of yours but it went back to that problem again that I posted about in another thread.
I ended up restarting the registry back to yesterday to fix it again.
Not sure of what to do.. maybe I am doing something wrong with the setup. I have had to scanreg /restore 3 times in ms dos mode because of this problem. You can read my other thread here: (http://www.computing.net/windows95/wwwboard/forum/159112.html)
Right now everything is working fine with my internet. But, if I try to install the webcam again things will go haywire with my internet again on that computer I am sure.On another computer I have windowsXp and it works fine.. I don't know what is wrong. I would like for this to work on MY personal computer. *clueless of what to do*
Does anyone have any idea?
.. please help -- thank you

First off,uninstall/remove any drivers that are installed for that cam.Unplug, and leave unplugged until cam drivers are installed properly.DO NOT plug camera until it is installed right (drivers) or windows will attempt to install it`s own.Install proper driver, reset pc,then plug cam in.
Second sounds like some kind of conflict (with router),go to accessories, system tools, system information.Click hardware + by hardware resources, then conflicts/sharing.Also check problem devices in componets also in system information.

I uninstalled the previous drivers like you said. Then I unplugged the camera and went to bed. Now it's morning and I am attempting this again. :)
How can I install it without plugging the camera in? I tried to go to control panel > Scanners/cameras. Then I clicked Add. Then I chose "Browse" and selected the folder that the drivers were in (from the link you provided) and hit okay. But nothing showed up on the list.
I don't know what to do.. any advice again? Thank you.
