Intel 440BX max processor speed.

Could anybody tell me the maximum speed my Intel 440BX motherboard will handle. Currently running at 300mhz (PII) also will the board handle PIIIs

You may need a BIOS update to get up to 850mhz !

My son's computer has a SE440BX-2 motherboard in it. With A BIOS Upgrade it will only handle a P III 600-MHz CPU. Check your particular board here.

I have a QS440BX PII 400Mhz 100 FBS upgraded with a Powerleap adapter and a celeron PIII to a 1.2Ghz. updated BIOS. It's running perfect. Check out Powerleap.com
