Installing Winmodem on Laptop

Finally got the 760EL working great, except I can't install USR Winmodem 56K PCMCIA on the new 3gb hard drive. I was able to install the same PCMCIA on the original 810mb without any problems. The only difference is that the original hard drive came with Windows 98SE installed on it, whereas on the new drive, I installed Win 98SE, via an upgrade CD.
BTW: Another hardware-based 56K PCMCIA modem works fine on both drives. Should I just bag the Winmodem on this drive?

Hi, Since you have a hardware-based modem, just stick with that. I really don't like to use Software modems, but that is just my personal preference. Hope this can be of some assistance to you, ~winipcfg
