Comment: i bought a barebones pc and added a 23gb hard drive. i ran fdisk to partition and attempted to install windows 98. the startup disk was in the 3.5 drive and the 98 cd-rom was its drive. at the prompt, i input 'setup' to begin the installation. i got a message asking me to wait, then i got a message that stated windows 98 requires 7+mb of space and the system did not do anything. did i partition the hard disk drive incorrectly? how can i get past this point?

Reply: (edit)Kevin, If it were I installing this and got that error I would. Use the boot disk and boot to a c prompt and fdisk. Then I would remove any partition from the drive. I then would reboot to c again and fdis. At thi point you should get support large disk yes is the responce. Create the partition and reboot when done to the cd-rom. Making sure you have selected that boot option in the bios. The cd-rom will prompt to format the hard drive automaticly. This will solve the issue
