In the cmos you need to either put first boot device as the floppy that is if you have a boot floppy for windows or put first boot device from cdrom and run the install from there. You may need to fdisk and format before you install windows.

Either drive will work as long as it is the drive listed as first boot device in the BIOS

any i think try the burner if that fails try the dvd drive windows will load driver support for one of them.Put the disk in and boot the system making sure the cmos says boot from cdrom when you get the A: prompt change it to a D or an E by typing E:\ or D:\ then hit return and type SETUP it should run then.

Is the drive set up in your bios? If it is, then I'd use fdisk to check the partitions. You may want to delete what's there and start fresh.
