Hi. I have formatted my drive and now, I want to install Windows 98. When my pc boots up, it goes directly to the dos prompt (C:\>). From there, I can access my floppy, but not my cd-rom. I wanted to know if I could run a windows 98 startup disk and install the operating system from there. Thank you.
use a boot disk, then type d: or E; or whatever your CD-rom's drive letter is. Once you're in the right drive, type setup.

Boot to the Windows 98 startup diskette. This will load your CDrom drivers. Then you can access the 98 cdrom and run setup. Some computers will also allow you to boot to the 98 cdrom.
