Hello, I'm trying to install Win98_SE on a brand new HDD. I have the Windows CD, and a boot floppy. I've partitioned and formatted the hard drive, and I don't know where to go from here. Its been a lot of new stuff for me. I try to run the Setup.exe from the CD, but for some reason it says that my D: drive is invalid. It recognizes it in the BIOS, so I don't know what to do from here. Please help!

If you're using a Microsoft flavor of boot floppy...
Boot from the 98 boot floppy "with cd support". C: should be the hdd, D: the RAM Drive, and E: the cd.
Then type e:, then type setup
A boot floppy made from bootdisk.com or other third party could assign the cd a drive letter such as R:
Skip

Do you have more than one hard drive? What capacity is the new drive? How did you partition and format it?

Larry: Yes that is my computer. Othehill - no.I've only got 1 hard drive. Skipcox, tried the R: drive - found the CD. But now its saying that the system.com file is missing from the CD. I guess I could just copy it to the floppy... yeah okay I think we're good now. x3 Thanks for helping me solve this. Never thought to look for an R drive. :P
