Comment: I am trying to install Win98 on an old 486 The problem is that the windows startup disk doesn't see my cdrom drive due to the fact that it runs from the sound card and not directly from the mother board. Does anyone know an easy fix for this or am I screwed????

Reply: (edit)You will need the installation program that will setup your sound card and CDROM. Would you have a Creative CDROM and Soundblaster sound card ?? You can download the required drivers program from www.driverguide.com username = drivers password = all Do a search for Creative. Good luck...Krystyna

Reply: (edit)Here is a link for a 2x CDROM with Mozart sound card. It should pretty well work with anything similar. http://www.oaktech.com/downloads/legacy_drivers/zipfiles/mztw95.zip Krystyna

Reply: (edit)I absolutely, positively would NOT under any conditions install W98 on this machine. 95, maybe. At the price of new, high speed Cd's, why mess with that thing?
