i am trying to install win95 on a newer machine

do i need a setup diskette??

what needs to be on it?

It doesn't have to be this difficult

Your going to need chipset,audio,Display drivers ETC...

Which version of windows 95 you use will make a lot of difference.(95a- 95b- 95c}

You can download the file you need a below site to make a boot disk.Do not just copy the file to a floppy disk.Use it to make the
boot disk.

You are going to have problems installing Windows 95 on a CPU greater than 350 MHz. There was a timing problem that stopped it from booting after the install.

Both Microsoft and AMD issued a patch to get round the problem. You had to under-clock the CPU to less than 350 MHz, install the OS, install the patch then bring to CPU back up to its proper speed.

I don't know if this patch is still available but you might have problems under-clocking a P4 to 350 MHz.
