Hiya, I have a 64mb Dimm installed in a dimm slot. Then when I add two 8mb Simms to the simm slots The system doesn't boot. It has made beeps, then after these it does another beep which sounds like those you get in game shows when your answer is wrong - ('eah uhr') I cannot get these simms to work with the 64mb Dimm, I need help. The dimm is single sided ram. The simms are double sided ram. All the ram is in place correctly. Im using an Amdk62/400 the motherboard is an Enpc.
the computer gave you the answer. you can't run dimms and simms together. the voltages are diff and the speed is diff. simms are 70 nanoseconds, dimms are 8-10 nanoseconds. good luck, don't burn out the voltage regulator messin around. kj

Alot of motherboards will not work with both installed.
Some do work but the simms can not be installed in a specific bank while using Dimms
I do not recommend doing this because when you add dimms and simms together the computer will use the slower ram speed which defeats the purpose of buying DIMMS.
just use the 64 meg DIMM

What are you still doing with 8mb simms anyway?
Stick one to the wall, and use the other as a heychain...geeez
Cardinal rule number one... No can mix DIMM & SIMM
And speaking of old RAM keychains... I did that with some old 4MB cards. Lacquered them; attached keychain to them, and then sold them at flea market. How's that for getting rid of junk? LOL
