Comment:

I recently got a SanDisk ATA Flash Drive PCMCIA card and am having trouble getting it working. My PCMCIA controller shows the card and in the device manager I find the drive but nothing in Explorer shows I have another new drive. In the device manager it shows another hard drive (Generic IDE Disk Type 16) and the driver entry shows a standard driver dated 4.23.99. But in settings it shows no drive letter and that entry is blanked out so I can enter a letter. At the moment I have an A,C & D drive on the system. Under hard disk controllers it shows a SanDisk ATA Flash Disk with a driver Microsoft 4.23.99 and my hardware entries in system info also show the SanDisk Flash Drive. It seems like it is there but I can't access it or use it. Do I need a special driver or is there just some setting I am missing?

Uninstall the driver for this card, then load the driver again and THEN plug in the card. If you plug the card in first and then try to load the software, it won't work.

Got it working. The flash disk just needed to be formated but when I tried that on this computer I got a "not enough memory" error. Put the card in my old T4700 running Win95 with 24MB RAM and was able to format it. Went to setting for the drive, checked "removable" and specified "E" drive. Now I have an E drive.
