Installing Office Xp on Windows 98

I tried to install Office Xp on my computer running on Windows 98 but was not successful. When I did d:\setup from the run box as well as clicking on the D:\ drive on explorer it denied access. I cannot open the XP Office CD while I can open any other CDs

Check for dust or fingerprints. It it's really clean, go to Add/Remove programs and try to run it from there. Larry

oops, sorry, did not read properly: thought you meant Windows XP... Try to copy the cdrom to your harddisk, see if any errors come up. If not, it should run.

Try uninstalling any previous office programs (i.e. office 2000) then installing office xp. Steve
