Comment: If I install IE5 (from a magazine cover disk), over my IE4 (win98) what changes can I expect than from a vanilla copy of IE5? (u know like having the companies logo splashed across the menu or something). Are these cosmetic changes easily removed via registry and is that all what companies do to the IE5, just alter the animation logo and header bar? Or can I just get a vanilla copy of IE5 from Microsoft? Whew. So many questions! By the way, do I have to uninstall IE4 b4 putting on IE5? Cheers for any help BILL

Reply: (edit)In my experience, the cover CDs with IE 5 on simply contain setup.exe which runs the download/install routine much the same as going to Microsoft's site. I presume this is Microsoft's way of keeping track of how many copies of its browser are out there.
