I have windows 98 on an HP pavilion. I have been trying and trying to install my hp 672c printer. Wouldn't print. I then downloaded HP's driver and upgrade programs from their site. I STILL can't get it to print a page. I got it to print out a test page ONCE. What am I missing? I go to settings, printer, try to install the printer. I can't get past the first test page. I feel hopelessly confused now. :-)

Howdy, Well have you called HP and talked with them? Are you getting any error messages? There is also a chance the printer good be bad, it does happen. I need some more details though before I can help ya out any futher.

P.S Are you using a IEE1284 cable?

Two HP products, not good. You can try uninstalling the printer, using the HP setup or driver disc, or on the program you downloaded. Choose Uninstall instead of install, reboot, then go back in and delete anything that's left of the HP printer program, be carefull NOT to delete anything to do with the HP Pavillion though.
Then try to install the printer again. you can also check out HP's Customer Forum for your model and the problem. Repost if you still have problems.

Thank you for your suggestions. I was about to try that, but was hoping there might have been an easier--and safer--way. :-) I appreciate the advice. Thanks again.

This may sound silly, scream if you like, but does the cartridge have ink in it, try a different one if you have one, I had problems like that before and turned out to just an empty one on both my HP's and my Canon. You could also check where you install cartridge to see if the flat cable is clean at the contacts, I used Metho [spirits] to clean mine once and you should have seen the mess.

my hp672-c has been working fine now whwn i go to print it wont something about a cable but nothing has changed it is about 2yr old not used much
