Subject: Installed 98 on HD, but won't boot
Comment:

I just installed Windows 98 on to a pentium 100 pc. I restarted the computer and the bios finds the drive but won't boot the drive. When I start the drive from an system disk, I can read the drive fine.

Why?..Any Suggestions?

Steve

try booting a win98 startup disk and at a:
type sys c:
press enter
it will respond system transferred
take out floppy and reboot.
if this fails, you might need to reinstall 98
to c:\windows (not c:\windows.000)
since something apparently is corrupt.
