Subject: Install without floppy/CD rom?
OS: Win 98
CPU/Ram: 200mmx 32mb
Comment:

I have inherited an IBM thinkpad 570laptop with no CD/floppy drive. I need to install drivers to put on hardware such as a floppy or CD Rom-however it seems I need those devices to do this in the first place!!! How can I achieve this? I know that Win 98 has certain drivers already-do I need to utilise those? I would be grateful for any help.

Couple of possibilities:
1. Use E-Mail and send as attachment(s). I'd zip them up first if I were you.
2. Use a hard-wire connection between the 2 computers (parallel/Interlink) or LAN.
3. Try a USB storage stick.

As long as it's a CDROM drive you should be able to use windows standard CD driver.

But i like Don's email approach in case you do need an IBM specific driver.

Here is IBM\s downloadf site

A quick look at ebay found floppies and cd's for 20 bucks or so.
A network connection will also work.
