Comment: Can someone please tell me what i have to do step by step to re install windows 98 on my formatted hard drive. My Compaq 7770DMT has a removable cd and Folppt Disk Drive, so when I load the win 98 boot disc the process fails when i have to remove the floppy disk to install the cd rom

Reply: (edit)Ok. That is because they are compressed in the ebd.cab file on the floppy. The easiest way will be to get the Custom, No Ramdrive bootdisk from the link below. It does not need to compress any of the files as it does not contain the ones necessary for creating the Ramdrive. It will have all the files you need. Custom Bootdisk Mesich

Reply: (edit)Hello again I have installed the cd rom drivers etc But when i go to access the cd rom i get this error Cdr101: Not ready reading drive D Does this mean my cd rom is faulty? I have an Compaq Armada 7770DMT Although i get that error message when the cd rom is in that bay, when the floppy disk drive is in the same bay it works perfectly?
