install win98

i'm a novice with computers my friend formated a hard disk for me gave me a copy of win98 and told me just to put the disk in and it will instal its self, so i did, i followed the on screen messages and got as far a restarting my comp, i was expecting it to turn back on and continue installing, or it would have finnished but instead i get a dos screen that says do you want to start up using cd rom support when i say no nothing happens when i say yes it comes up with d:\win98 what do i have to do next? please help as my mate has gone on holiday!

Hi Alex,
Shortly after Windows setup starts running you should be taken to a screen that prompts you to create a Startup Disk.
After the Startup disk is created you should be prompted to remove the floppy from the drive.
During the Windows Install the computer will restart several times and it needs to do so without a floppy in the drive.
Take out the floppy and restart the computer. Post back.
