Comment: Is it posible to get rid of the WinME for the good old Win98? I have only 64MB memory and it lookd like WinME can't run properly with that. I wish to go back to Win98, is it possible to do it without formatting the harddrive? Thanks for your help!

Reply: (edit)far as I know, win98 will not install if it detects a newer version of windoze ( ME ). The only way to retain your previoous program settup is to leave the registry intact and that will confuse win98 too much. Backup your personal data, drivers, programs, emails, favorites, etc, etc. Byte the bullet and start fresh. IF you have multiple drives , either physical or as logical partitions , backup to one of those, then format the windows partition.

Reply: (edit)If you saved your old 98 config during an "upgrade" to Me, yes. If your Me was an OEM install, or you did a clean install of Me, no.
