Comment: Hi there! I have a laptop with only 8Mb memory and I want to install Win98 on it. During the first portion of Setup, the error message "Win98 needs at least 16 Mb" or something like that. How can I skip this? Haha, not by adding more memory, because for this machine there's no hardware available... Any suggestions are welcome.... Dan

Reply: (edit)if you could make it work with just 8MB it would be so slow that you would want it off yes you need 16MB but even with that it would be very slow.

Reply: (edit)It's not worth installing on a laptop with only 8MB of Ram- i had one qith 20MB and it installed but it almost melted my system because Win 98 is RAM and Processor hungry. With 8mb of Ram i wouldn't even use win 95 i'd stick with Win 3.11 because that way you get the most use of of your computer- the applications won't take 10 minutes to boot up.
