The laptop can only take one drive at a time. It's either a floppy or a cd-rom drive. I want to put 98 in but am not sure about being able to pull the floppy drive and inserting the cd-rom so the installation can finish. I haven't tried it yet so I was hoping that someone here would know how to go about this. This laptop is not mine so I don't want to damage it. It already has W2000 but they need the 98 because of the program they need to run. Any ideas would really be appreciated or even if you could send me to a link that I can read up on. Thank you.

Sure thing - the question comes up fairly often.
I believe Win2K allows dual booting, but the preferred method of installation would be 98, then 2K (space permitting). Win98 only works with FAT partitions

Thanks Jboy. The funny thing about it is that it already had 2000 but she needs the 98. Nothing like downgrading. LOL
