I'm trying to install Spyware Blaster 2.6.1 on my Win98 IBM Aptiva and I get the error message "A required .DLL file MSVBUM60.DLL, was not found" AND the error code "Create process failed code 1157 one of the library files needed to run this aplication cannot be found"
When I installed Spyware Blaster I got the error message "C:\process files\spywareguard\spyware.dll unable to register the DLL/OCX: load library failed code 1157.
Is there something I need to download or adjust to be able to install these two great programs?

That's a Microsoft Visual Basic file and should be available for download thru a Google search.

I located the file MSVBVM60.dll and I attemted to unzip it and install it but when I unzipped it its nowhere to be found. The read me text that came with it says to extract it to the System Directory. So again I attempted to unzip it to the system directory but in Winzip you cant map to the system or a "system directory". Ive been trying to find the System icon using the WinZip program but I cant locate it. Shouldnt I be able to just click the file and let it extract itself??? Any help in getting Spyware Blaster would be appreciated.

I tried both of those patches and it cleared up the MSVBUM60.DLL problem (hope it was OK to install both of those recommended patches)but now I'm still getting a new error message. It says "Run-Time 339 Component MSCOMCTL.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly registered, a file is missing or invalid.
Is there another patch recommended??
Thanks in advance for any help received.

I found that DLL called MSCOMCTL.OCX and copied it to the Windows32 folder and typed in the name in the RUN box, Windows found it and installed it to my surprise. To make a long story short I now have Spyware Blaster & Spyware Guard updated and installed due to the expert help I received in this forum. Thanks to everyone who helped out I learned alot!
