Comment: I recently got a virus and had to format my Pc. I installed win98 with no problems and then tried to install ME upgrade but my Pc kept freezing up about 50 to 75 % through install. I noticed the disk had alot of scratches on it so I thought that could be the problem so I purchased XP and had the exact same problem. I then thought the hard drive could be bad so i purchased a new hard drive. And I still had the same blue screen about 50 to 75% through install. I have tried to install games also and the same problem happens. please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reply: (edit)Sounds like ur cdrom drive may be a lil dusty inside and having trouble reading some disks - it happens over a period of time. Try opening the tray and blowing inside, or preferably take the unit out and dismantle/clean it out. If u don't fancy that, then a new drive should solve ur probs. GoodLuck
