When I insert install disc & boot this is the message I get: Your PC does not have a HD, your HD is not functioning correctly or your HD requires a special device driver.

When I try fdisk: No fixed disk present

When I try format: Required parameter missing

Any help?

Do you have Gateway installation software or Microsoft?
If Microsoft, download and run DelPart. That will remove all partitioning. Then try fdisk again.

downloaded DelPart & it said No Hard Drive found? I think I might have Gateway Install disc. Says Microsoft Windows98 for PCs without Windows on the front of disc.

The hard drive isn't being seen by the bios. You can't do anything else until you figure out why.

What size is it? Is it jumpered and connected correctly? Is it properly identified in cmos/bios setup?
