One Work-round for this deficiency of Sound Recorder and increase the maximum recording time in the Sound Recorder utility [but not the most efficient :-(]
1.Make sure your microphone is muted so it will not pick up sound.

2.Click Record, and then let Sound Recorder run for 60 seconds.

3.After Sound Recorder stops recording, click Save As... on the File menu, and name the file Blank.wav

4.To increase the maximum recording time in Sound Recorder, click Insert File on the Edit menu, and then insert the Blank.wav file you've saved in step 3. When you do this, the maximum recording time is increased by 60 seconds.

5.You can repeat this step once for each additional minute of recording time that you want to add. For example, for a 5-minute recording time, insert the Blank.wav file five times

Unless you have infinite hard drive space then you will be limited.

In using the Site Search I find several replies to this same question with similar answers to Billy's reply #2.

As far as I know you can't but what you can do is click record and let it go for 60 sec then click the seek to start button. Then go to Effects, Decrease speed and keep doing it.

And you will get a lengh of 3840 sec's About 1 hour 4 mins. Then just start recording again. Hope this is of help to you.

Well, no, not infinity but you can set it for as long as you wish using the method given in #1.

For example, I set mine by resaving until I had a template that allowed it to run for 60 mins (which I thought was a useful size). The empty file is a whacking great 77.5M

Probably more practical to search around for a sound recorder which runs longer. Make sure there is not one already supplied as part of the software for your SoundCard (such as Soundo'LE, which comes with SoundBlaster PCI 128)

Hi! every body

Okay, from the postings I read it will be easier just buying a sound recorder separate, for this bugy software from our father billy Gates.

Thanks to every body anyways.
