I would like to have the option of checking my e-mail from either Outlook Express or from Outlook, but I want to see all my mail from either program. Does anyone know how to map them so they both look to the same folders? In their default set ups, they use different folders, so e-mail received in one cannot be viewed in the other. Is this an uncorrectable design error? I like to use Outlook Express when I am in a hurry and don't have the time to wait for Outlook to load. I use Outlook when I need to do more than just check e-mail.

I don't think it's possible. Doesn't OE use .mbx files? Outlook uses .pst extensions for storing files. I think that's right. Lemme know if that's no the case. However. . .if it is then OE would create an individual .mbx file for each folder(inbox, outbox, draft, yada yada yada) where Outlook stores it in one file. You could go through the tedious task of importing and exporting for each use but then that'd be a pain. I have a similar situation when switching between W98 and W2K on the same drive. Mail generated or downloaded under one is not accessable under the other unless I export/ import. But then I use Outlook 2000. It is customizeable to some extent but I don't think it can be directed to use a particular .pst file on start-up.

I would love for someone to prove all this wrong.

If you set the account options in both programs to leave mail on the server, you will be able to recieve all mail in both programs, but the other things you want to do will not work. Both programs will however automatically share the same address book/contact list.
