I have some rather new PC100 SDRAM, which I'm planning to add to my new 133mhz bus motherboard. I also plan to use a penIII 800EB flip chip that's also operative at 133mhz. My question is this: is it okay to use my PC100 ram on a 133mhz MB with the new chip? I'm rather reluctant to spend any more money just to buy pc133 ram.

FDNHS, it is possible to run the 100mhz RAM on the 133mhz MoBo with out any problems. of course you will have to set the CPU multiplier to 100mhz X 8 so that the RAM bus speed will match your existing RAM. you might also be able to overclock the FSB up to 110mhz or higher if you RAM is of good quality and proper cooling. as well if you do so, you run the risk of warrenty viod and damage to the RAM,and/or MoBo, and/or CPU. good luck, felix

If it is good quality memory then most likely you will be able to run it at 133. But if it is a cheap brand then you may have to slow down the config so it runs at 100.

Impossible, NO, Impractical YES what is the point of buying 133 Motherboard, if you have to reset it to 100 just for the ram? If you cannot afford to buy a lot of ram at present, try to pick up at least a 64 mb stick. You can always add to it at a later date when you have more money.

It is quite possible. Just remember though that if you swap one of the chips for a 133mhz chip, you will still only be getting the performance of the PC100 chip that you added.
