whenever i work in photoshop 7 it shows illegal operation.i have a p4 computer with intel original 865 motherboard,512 mb ram,p4 (2.4 Ghz processor),hp 1015 laser printer and hp scanjet 2400.please help me to solving this problem

The usual solution is to re-install the application. Normally you don't even have to un-install it first, just re-install to the same location.

run scandisk on drive to check for errors,

check preferences for photoshop, swapfile size,and drive being used,

check drive properties for free space and swapfile size

run sfc (system file checker)if needed, for any corrupt files, and repair form win cd, or update info for other changes,ignore if unable,
