I am using Windows 98 SE operating system at my office computer. The computer are connected to LAN. Yesterday when I try to shut down my PC, the following message appear

“ There are 1 user(s) connected to your computer. Shutting down your computer will disconnect them. Will you want to continue? “

I am quite shocked and worry if somebody tried to hack into my computer. I am very concerned because I never share out any folder in my hard drive. Anybody has any suggestions or ideas why does it show up such message as I didn’t share out any folder .

My company using Windows NT as the domain server, is there any way to trace which pc access my computer?

Thank You

Ben, Unfortunately there is NO security within Win98, think I'm kidding. Next time you boot up, don't put in your password, just click "cancel" instead. If you want security, you must go to a 32 bit platform (WinNT, Win2kPro or XPPro). The fact that you are connected to a network (with Win98) means you are wide open to everyone on the network.
