I.E.causing shutdown problem

Further to my earlier post on my computer hanging on shutdown I have isolated the problem to be Internet Explorer still showing as "not responding" in the Task Manager,after coming out of the program.
If I try to end task I get a blue screen & the only way out is to ctl/alt /del again & restart.

Any ideas?
