The question hasn't been asked in a while so all of the previously posted links I've tried are dead. Is there anywhere I can download the full installation of IE5? - I'm trying to put AVG on an old system & it won't work without it.

I recommend you get for IE 5.5 SP2. This was the last version that supported Windows 95.

got any old ISP (AOL, Earthlink, etc) CDs laying around? You can usually pop in the CD, stop the software install, then use Windows explorer to find the IE folder...there's usually several different versions available

Yeah, I looked in a couple of ISP disks but I haven't got any pre v6 - tend not to bother keeping them. Great stuff Tufenuf - downloading it as we 'speak'. Many thanks - shall save a copy this time.
Summary: I need a full download of ie6 so that I can put it on a 98se computer. The 98se has a slow internet connection so updating not an option. Will all the emails/settings etc still be there once I upgrade...
Summary: I assume IE Repair is not available because you have not Upgraded. It's Control Panel/Add-Remove, double click Microsoft Internet Explorer & Tools entry and it will show, if available. Later versions...
