I have reinstalled the operating system several times (after reformatting the hard drive) from two different win98 cdroms and still keep getting the following crash message from drwatson:

**********
The application overflowed its stack. This is typically caused by unrestricted recursion or an exception inside an exception handler.

Module Name: KERNEL32.DLL
Description: Win32 Kernel core component
Version: 4.10.1998
Product: Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Operating System
Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation

Application Name: Explorer.exe
Description: Windows Explorer
Version: 4.72.3110.1
Product: Microsoft(R) Windows NT(R) Operating System
Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation
**********

Could this be a hardware problem? I have 64M of SDRAM and have tried messing around with the access times in the BIOS but nothing seems to help. My explorer only works for about 15 minutes before crashing. The DUN icon in the system tray disappears after a crash but I am still connected. I am ready to throw the computer out of the window, please help, chris

Howdy, Well if you are using 2 DIMM's reduce it down to 32megs and see if the problem still persists. There are many things that could be wrong, you could have a faulty L2 cache, using the wrong speed SDRAM or have some other hardware problem. Also, Dr. Watson is a pretty lame ass program in my opinion. See if you can duplicate the problem in safe mode, if you can't it very well then might be a memory problem since safe mode does not load extended memory. If you have any more questions about this, e-mail me.
