If you are running IE6 SP1 with all the cumulative updates then that's as far as you can go with W98SE.

If in doubt post back with your exact IE version (from IE Help/About).

At the top it should show the actual Version number, such as:

6.0.2800.1106IC

Same as mine, so I would have thought you were up to date. However I'm surprised you dont't appear to have these two:

918439 special IE6 update

916281 cumulative IE6 SP1 update

If you put these numbers in Start/Find/Files or Folders and it finds them, then it's pretty certain you have got them. Windows Updates still works (no new ones tho), so you can always check that way too.

As a complete aside (and no big issue really) I've recently found, certain gif images won't display on webpages because of the last few cumulative IE updates (most do) - see my post about 5 down.

"Windows 98/ME have bit the dust in terms of updates"

Spot on, but to clarify further you can still get them on the normal Windows Update website up to and including June 11th 2006. They gave "support" until July 11th but ducked out of the updates for that date (which I thought was a bit miserable of them).

No matter, probably not that important...
